Kaitaia Farmers Market, is the most popular and biggest market in the Far North region. Running every Saturday, it offers a huge range of local & organic goods.

MARKET IS AN IDEAL WEEKEND DESTINATION, TO EXPERIENCE A GREAT TIME WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY!


Fresh produce, with all local sourced and 100% organic grown fruits and vegetables. Some of which are coming from orchards that are run by several generations and their fruit trees are the most old you can find in New Zealand, resulting in the harvest being so succulent and rich in taste, that you won’t want to go to the supermarkets to seek for fruits anymore!

When, Where?

The market takes place EVERY SATURDAY from 7 am till midday (check for updates on the official Facebook page).

It takes place on 11 Matthews Ave, Kaitaia. The market is set up near the Warehouse Building. If you take the STH1 when going through Kaitaia, the market will be located 1 minute away from the Te Ahu Center.

Market visits are a fun and tasty outing for all ages and you are guaranteed to find something you will love and would want to bring home.

Moreover, local fruits and veggies are much cheaper and 10x times healthier than from the shop!

On Kaitaia Saturday Market you can find:

  • fruits and veggies that are locally grown and are 100% organic
  • fresh meat and seafood. smoked fish, manuka-smoked and hemp-smoked bacon, raw scallops and oysters… Yumm!

    Be sure to check out the ancient kauri crafts, that cannot be found anywhere else in the world.

  • locally-brewed Kombucha. Mamazing has the biggest unusual variety that you cannot find in stores! Brewed on the Fern Flat Road (in the middle of the bush near Kaitaia) it’s sure to be something you must try in your life.

EFTPOS, Cards, Cash

Many sellers will have credit/debit terminals ready for use. But if you need to cash-out, just head to the main street (Commerce Street – 1 minute away) and walk to the nearest ATM – BNZ or Kiwibank are located near the NZ Post office.

Parking

Free parking is all around the market. Best is to park on the Warehouse parking, as there is no limit on time. If you park on the main street (Commerce St) – the parking time is limited to 1-1.5hours.
